Yonkers resident Harry Quintana-Cruz pleaded guilty on Tuesday, April 9 to one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced.
Scarpino said that on four separate occasions in March and April 2017, Quintana-Cruz sold drugs to an undercover Yonkers police officer in the Nodine Hill section of the city. The initial investigation into crack cocaine sales in the area came about due to the activity of the 150 Clan, a gang that operates in that part of Yonkers, the District Attorney noted.
Quintana-Cruz was arrested by police in Yonkers on Dec. 19 last year, following an indictment that was delivered by a Westchester County grand jury. He appeared this week in court to accept a felony plea deal on the day his trial was set to begin.
When he is sentenced on June 7, Quintana-Cruz is expected to receive a term of six and a half years in prison, followed by a year and a half of post-release supervision. Scarpino said that the case was part of a multi-agency narcotics investigation in Yonkers that was conducted by his office, the Yonkers Police Department and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
